Speeding Oz teen may face 'gorillas in the mist'
"Specifically, Maloney explained that the perp would "shower with the gorillas in the mist down at Long Bay jail". He elaborated: "You'll find big, ugly, hairy strong men who've got faces only a mother could love that will pay a lot of attention to you - and your anatomy."" - by Me!

If you don't already use WPA-AES, turn it on. Use MAC address filtering. Enable NAT on your router. Enable its firewall and IDS features. Check their logs regularly. Double check port forwarding rules, secure them with IP ACLs if necessary. Setup usernames and (strong) passwords on your Windows system. I had some fun making this HDR photo of Canary Wharf this afternoon - hope you like it :)
Well done to Linda, Ben, Mark & Piers! It was a scorching day, but I think everyone just about survived!
After the deluge, the weather turned out fantastically sunny and it was a great day.
Some pictures in the gallery for you...
I realised that they did (obviously) have support vehicles, just not as many!
I've posted some photos of NY up in the gallery - sorry the quality isn't great, they were taken on my phone as I didn't want to bring my SLR with me. Hopefully i'll get back here sometime soon when I have more time on my hands.
Oh, and if you're looking for a Gallery2 upload client for Vista, take a look at Pix2Gallery2- it's not entirely bug free, but it'll do!

Some pictures from today's marathon for you:
Update: I forgot to mention that I've tagged all the photos as much as possible, including with the runner's number (if I could see them) and obviousl running clubs. So, you can search for yourself with your number. I have higher res photos too, so if you find yourself and want a big pic, let me know.
So, it's just over two weeks since our wedding civil partnership. We spent the week before mostly cooking as we were doing all the catering ourselves. Everyone seems to have liked what we did (catering for 50 is tough!) so I guess we did something right :)
We had a few hicups - a last minute champagne substitution and a marquee that was distinctly not watertight (thankfully it didn't rain) but luckily the weather was great on the day.
We were both petrified beforehand but the ceremony went well at Southwark Registry Office and the "celibrant" was really good. Afterwards we had a pretty good party back at our house and although it was a little packed everyone enjoyed it.
So, some pictures :)
Well, we're just back from a couple of weeks in Curacao for our honeymoon (a post about the wedding to follow) and you can see the pictures up in the gallery.
I'm going to write a travel guide for Curacao in the near future but to summarise it: nice weather, nice people, nice landscape, crap taxi drivers, poor food.
I've switched to using Gallery2 instead of Coppermine for my gallery software - it's a lot easier to create custom themes and to upload items. I think I've updated all the pictures used in the blog, but there'll still be external links that point to the wrong place...
Let me know if you think anything's broken or you can't find what you're looking for!
This is very sad , but what else can you do when your Nike+iPod running sensor goes flat and you can't change the battery?
I had to take a Dremel to it to get it open...
Only after the event did I find a page with a technical writeup (if you're into that sort of thing).
I am still pretty annoyed that you have to spend £20 a year on replacing the thing. How hard could it have been to build in a watertight battery compartment?
My boyfriend and I saw them at the Edinburgh festival over the summer, they were excellent :)
There are some pictures from my trip to lovely Amsterdam up at LokiFoto - only a few of them, but they're pretty good I think :)
I've just opened a new site to promote my commercial photography "services" :)
Mainly I'm into landscape photography and studio portrait work for profile sites (like gaydar).
So, have a look and let me know you think I can be of service!

I've just joined a camera club in London (The Camera Club) :)
My aim behind it is to actually learn some photographic skills and get better at what I do. My first evening course is in a couple of weeks' time and is going to teach me the basics of studio photography - lighting, metering etc.
I'm really looking forward to it, maybe I'll even start exhibiting ;) Oh, and I might be needing some models to practice on. Let me know if you're interested!
When you find an old memory stick on your camera, you never quite know what you're going to find. I've posted the rather electic mix up in the gallery - there's everything from Edinburgh at night and a rather sparkly new Atomium in Brussels to sheep in a city farm...
There are some photos of my trip to Edinburgh last week up in the gallery.
The weather was rubbish, so I didn't get to go hot air ballooning :(
<sigh>
How I wish I looked that good and could jump around like that :)
It's good to see that the taxpayer spent such a vast amount of money on ancient pornography.
The warren cup is actually rather beautiful:
I have a new phone, a sony ericsson W810 :)

So far, it's pretty much identical to my old K750 (it was free), however the worst thing about it so far is the ratherodd USB interface. It has two modes - one that emulates a USB mass storage device and another that uses drivers to talk to it (so you can sync to it etc.). This is wierd in itself, but if you choose the USB mass storage mode (say, if you want to copy MP3s onto it) it disables the radio (no calls!) and reboots the phone into some odd mode where you can't do anything.
On the plus side, I'm really loving the ambient light sensor which dims the screen and brightens the keypad dependant on the brightness. It's quite spooky and quite fun :)
The walkman application is a bit rubbish - you can't order by MP3 track ID for example, but it's enough for me and my occasional music listening. Oh, the phone has a flight mode as well, but if you were flight crew, could you tell the difference?
Some photos I took a couple of weeks ago. They're all from the woodland next to where we live.
As if it wasn't enough to taunt us with the giant man-sized posters of boy flesh on the underground, they make it available to download as well.

I'm just back from a few days at my parent's house near Bergerac in south west France.
Some pictures for you are up in the gallery
Some highlights:
We went to Portsmouth today. We went on a crappy boat trip around the harbour and got cold. We ate cake and went paddling. Then we came home. All in all, quite a pleasant day.
It's been a pretty wet morning, but I got some reasonable shots. Click the salami to head over to the gallery:
